Dave Cross

Dave Cross -- composer, arranger, clinician, guest conductor and music educator -- is highly respected for his wealth of knowledge and experiences in the field of music education. He directs two vocal jazz ensembles and teaches vocal jazz pedagogy classes at the UW School of Music. He has taught at Snohomish, Tyee, University, and Cascade high schools, Edmonds and Shoreline community colleges, and the University of Washington.

Cross is in demand as a clinician and guest conductor, and has conducted honor choirs throughout the US and Canada. Cross was a founding member and served for 25 years on the faculty of the Frank DeMiero Jazz Camp. His arrangements and compositions, more than 120 in the vocal jazz idiom, are published by UNC Press and Sound Music Publications.

Cross earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education and master’s degree in Music from Washington State University.
