Jazz Band Festival

The Kiwanis Jazz Festival is a two day festival at The Salvation Army Church in Burnaby on Wednesday and Thursday, March 3-4. Timeframe each day: 7:55 AM to 6:00 PM (Please note the Vocal Jazz portion is now aligned with Jazz Bands on Tuesday, March 2)
Entry deadline is February 1, 2010 Registration
Cost: $275 per ensemble

Wednesday lunch time concert presents Cory Weeds and The Tilden Webb Trio featuring Cory Weeds on tenor sax, Tilden Webb on piano and Jesse Cahill on drums.

Thursday lunch time concert features Capilano University's 6:00 BIG BAND, director Rejean Marois, and is comprised of students enrolled in the Jazz Studies program at Capilano University. The repertoire focuses on material from the libraries of the great big bands such as Woody Herman, Count Basie and Thad Jones. The band performs numerous concerts every year and is very happy to be invited to the Kiwanis Jazz Festival this year.

Directors, please note: Vibes and Congos will be available on stage courtesy of Tom Lee Music.
