INSPIRING MUSICAL EXCELLENCE

Gala Concerts

GALA SHOWCASE CONCERTS

At the culmination of each season’s Main Festival the adjudicators recommend several of the most outstanding performances they have heard. From these recommendations, performers are invited to take part in either the Junior Matinee Gala Concert or the Evening Gala Showcase Concert. These concerts are a celebration of all the hard work devoted by the Festival’s participants and a showcase for this talent.

Three distinguished judges are invited from Vancouver’s arts community to choose the top three performances at the Evening Gala Showcase Concert. Tom Lee Music graciously donates the prize money for these Tom Lee Excellence Awards. 1st place - $500; 2nd place - $300; 3rd place - $200

Evening Gala Concert Special Guests:

In 2011 the Junior Matinee Concert was introduced and all awards started being distributed at this concert. This left extra time during the Evening Gala, while the judges are deliberating, for a guest performer to present their music and share their thoughts about the benefits of participation in a music festival.
